Sania Mirza and her family will be leaving for Pakistan shortly to meet former cricket captain Shoib Malik and his family.
Mirza is to marry Shoaib Malik and a formal wedding reception has been scheduled within a month.
According to diplomatic sources, Sania, her parents and sister have applied for a visa at Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi and are expected to get visas by this evening.
After the marriage, the couple will be based in Dubai, where Shoaib is a resident. Sania will continue to play tennis once she recovers fully from the wrist injury that has marred her career in the recent past.
Yestarday, Sania told mediapersons that her marriage will be the biggest day of her life.

Sohrab Mirza's father wishes Sania on her engagement
Adil Mirza, father of Sania Mirza's ex-fiance, today wished good luck to the ace tennis player following her engagement to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
"I spoke to Imran (Sania's father) and congratulated him.
It is a happy thing. I wish best of luck for them," Adil Mirza told reporters here.
He said Sania's engagement to Shoaib Malik will not affect the ties between the two families.
"No way. It is an old relationship," he said.
Adil said Sohrab Mirza was aware of the development and he would wish Sania on her engagement.
"In fact, he will wish her," Adil Mirza said.
Sania got engaged to Sohrab, her childhood friend, last year but it broke down due to incompatibility between the two.

The decision of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza to tie the knot with Shoaib Malik has baffled people in her home town and triggered a debate on her move in view of the controversy involving the Pakistani cricketer.
The people, especially youngsters, were heard discussing the possible impact of the wedding on India-Pakistan relations, on her tennis career and whether Sania would remain an Indian citizen or become a Pakistani.
There is also speculation that the 23-year-old would stop playing tennis after the 2012 Olympics.
Coming a couple of months after she called off her engagement to childhood friend Sohrab Mirza citing 'incompatibility', the news of her proposed marriage with former Pakistani captain has surprised her fans and critics alike.
Even close family friends of Sania had no information about the alliance till her family Monday night confirmed a report by Pakistani television channel Geo News.
Some of her fans believe that she has taken a risk by choosing a Pakistani as her life partner given the strained relations between the two neighbours.
Sania Mirza is perhaps the first Indian celebrity to marry a Pakistani who is also a sports star in his country. The news of the marriage has attracted intense attention here.
'Sania and Shoaib will make a handsome couple. I wish her all the best,' said S. Rashmi, a student.
The opinion was divided on whether the alliance would help strengthen people-to-people ties. 'Marriage of the two celebrities would make no difference to Indo-Pak relations as they would have no influence on the powers that decide the foreign policies,' said M.A. Amir, a software professional.
Though Sania's family in their statement said she would settle down in Dubai after the marriage and would continue to represent India in coming events, her relatives were tight-lipped on whether she would remain an Indian or accept Pakistani citizenship after a few years. 'I don't think she will ever accept Pakistani citizenship given the strained relations between the two countries,' feels Fauzan Hashmi, a student.
Sania's critics feel she has committed a 'double fault' by breaking off the engagement with her childhood friend and then choosing a Pakistani, who allegedly cheated a girl from her own city after marrying her.

To be or not to be...There has been lot of hue & cry over Sania Mirza's Marriage.
The latest item to hit the charts is about Shoaib Mailk and Sania Mirza's Engagement.
Some Pakistani News channel (Geo TV) Started all this news.
The story says that The engagement will happen on April 16th. According to the channel, Shoaib's mother met Sania's parents in India and accepted her as future daughter-in-law.
The 'Walima' or reception is expected to be held in Lahore on April 16 or 17, according to the channel, which quoted sources as saying that Sania and Shoaib fell in love some six-and-half months ago and it could be the reason for the breaking up of Sania's engagement with childhood friend Sohrab Mirza.
"I desire to get married soon. You will soon get some good news but it depends on my family. I fully expect to get married this year," Shoaib had said in a recent interaction with the media here.
Asked if it would be an arranged marriage, he said, "No can say what will happen, but it will take place with the concurrence of my family."
