The Sunfeast Open 2005 is touted as one of the largest women's tennis event in South Asia. A Sony Ericsson WTA Tour event brought to India and managed by Globosport, the event will be hosted by Kolkata at the Netaji Indoor Stadium and played on Greenset courts.
The Sunfeast Open 2005 is to be played from the 19 to 25 September and will air live on Ten Sports. As a Tier-III tournament with prize money of $170,000, it promises to showcase some of the world’s best talent in tennis with Anastasia Myskina, Karolina Sprem, Tamarine Tanasugarn and India’s very own pride – Sania Mirza and Shikha Uberoi.
